Windows and open doors
Every lesson room has a window in its door, or the door stays open.
Parents may sit in
A parent is welcome to sit in on any lesson, and there is a bench for waiting outside each room.
Who may collect a student
We hand a student only to the grown-ups on your list, and we ask for ID from anyone we don't know.
When a student is ill
A student with a fever stays home. Tell us by text or a call, and we offer the time to the waitlist.

Family policies
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
When to keep your child home
A student with a fever or a cough stays home. Tell your teacher by text or a call, and the time can move or be offered to the waitlist.
Closures for weather and holidays
The studio closes for winter break and a few days in late November. If weather closes it, we text every family before the first lesson of the day.
Drop-off and pickup
A parent drops off and collects at the door of the lesson room. We hand a student only to the grown-ups on your list, and we ask for ID from anyone we don't know.
Watching class and recitals
A parent is welcome to sit in on any lesson. At concerts, please take your seat before the first piece, stay for the whole group and clap when it ends. Phones stay silent.
Leaving the program
Tell us by email or text a month before a student's last lesson. We will offer the weekly time to the next family on the waitlist.
What to wear and bring
Wear clothes you can move your arms in, with sleeves that don't catch the bow. For concerts, plain dark clothes, no costume.
Screens and phones
Phones stay in a pocket during lessons and rehearsals. A teacher may ask a student to record a short passage to practice from, with the family's permission.
